Big Foot Stationery Design

Big Foot Contracting Stationery Design
Big Foot Contracting’s stationery design was developed to establish a strong, professional brand presence that reflects the rugged expertise and craftsmanship of Tray Spaidal, a Master Carpenter. The project required a visual identity that could hold its own in the construction industry—built on trust, durability, and skilled precision. The final deliverables not only enhanced brand credibility but also ensured consistency across all client-facing materials.
Design Goals:
- Reflect craftsmanship, strength, and professionalism
- Use bold, structured design elements to represent the carpentry trade
- Maintain consistency across business card, letterhead, and other stationery
- Create a cohesive brand that clients remember and respect
Project Challenge:
The challenge was to balance rugged, hands-on carpentry aesthetics with a polished professional tone. The design needed to speak to both residential and commercial clients, ensuring it projected reliability while staying grounded in authentic craftsmanship.
Design Process & Approach:
1. Concept & Direction:
The core idea was to visually merge precision and strength — traits essential to carpentry — into a unified visual identity. We explored textured elements, carpenter’s tools, and bold framing to reflect structural integrity and hands-on expertise.
2. Logo Mark Design:
The logo, if present, is reinforced with construction-inspired visuals — such as woodgrain textures, hammer or framework silhouettes, and geometric balance — emphasizing structure and durability.
3. Typography:
The chosen typeface is strong, clean, and bold, emphasizing readability and impact. It supports the perception of a no-nonsense, highly skilled trade while still feeling accessible and professional.
4. Color Palette:
Earthy tones like wood brown, steel gray, and muted charcoal dominate the palette, grounding the identity in authenticity. These are accented with clean whites or subtle red/orange tones for contrast and emphasis.
Where It Works:
- Client proposals, invoices, and formal communications
- Leave-behind cards after completed projects
- Email signatures, branded folders, and envelopes
- Project documentation and site signage
Why This Logo Stands Out:
- Strong, stable visual aesthetic reflective of the trade
- Functional yet impactful across formats
- Creates a lasting impression of skill, trust, and reliability
- Enhances Tray’s personal brand as a Master Carpenter
Brand Statement:
The Big Foot Contracting stationery system is a powerful symbol of craftsmanship. Every card, letterhead, or branded piece tells a story of hard work, structural integrity, and trusted expertise — aligning perfectly with Tray Spaidal’s reputation in the industry.
